MANKATO, Minn. - The Winona State track and field team made the trip out to MSU to compete in the Minnesota State Open and broke school records in their performance on Saturday, April 12.
The Warriors started off the meet with
MacKenzie Wissbroecker taking second place in the long jump with a distance of 6.26 meters breaking the school record along with having the second best jump in NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field. WSU would then take first place in the 4x100m relay ran by
Sasha Steinbach,
Caitlyn Casella,
Danielle Saydee, and
Karissa Birch with a time of 48.25. In the 1500m race,
Samantha Harke took third with a time of 4:50.75 followed by
Mara Talabac taking fourth with a time of 5:00.15.
Alyssa Larson took second place in the 400m race with a time of 57.33. In the 100m dash, Steinbach took home second with a time of 12.15 seconds. In the 400m hurdles,
Regan Feit took second with a time of 1:03.43 along with
Stella Richter taking fourth with a time of 1:08.22 and
Emma Oden taking fifth with a time of 1:08.99.
