WINONA, Minn. – The Winona State track and field team readies to hit the road to UW-Eau Claire as they host the Dick and Mary Johnson Invite.
The Dick and Mary Johnson Invite is hosted by the UW-Eau Claire Blugolds at Simpson Field on Saturday, April 25th.
Winona State Notes:
- The Warriors had a successful trip to California earning a new school record and a slew of other top performances.
- Ella Voit set the new school record in the 3000m steeplechase at the Byran Clay Invitational hosted by Azusa Pacific. Voit was the fifth fastest Division II finisher with a time of 10:27.32, which moves her up to seventh overall in NCAA Division II this Spring.
- Ella Schueler finished 13th in the triple jump with a distance of 38' 7.5" (11.77m), at the Bryan Clay Invitational.
- Sasha Steinbach finished fourth in the 200m at the Cal State Twilight Open with a time of 24.74s. Steinbach set a new personal best, while jumping to 91st in NCAA Division II.
- The 4x400 relay team of Alyssa Larson, Adalyn Barkley, Karissa Birch and Lexi Urbick finished sixth in a competitive field of 18 with multiple Division I opponents at the Bryan Clay Invitational. Their time ranks second in the NSIC and 15th in NCAA Division II.
- Urbick finished third in the 400m hurdles at the Cal State Twilight Open with a time of 1:02.20, earning the rank of 55th in NCAA Division II.
- Stella Rusch finished fifth in the Open B division of the 5000m with a time of 16:58.62 at the Bryan Clay Invitational. Rusch is currently in number three in NCAA Division II, ranked behind teammate Kylie Anderson.
- Kelsey Young won the 5000m at the Phil Esten Challenge in 18:07.45.
- Mara Talabac set a new personal best in the 1500m finishing 14th in 4:43.38 at the Phil Esten Challenge.
- Ava Krista jumped 37' 4.5" (11.39m) in the triple jump earning a fifth-place finish at the Phil Esten Challenge.
The Warriors are competing in fifteen events at the Dick and Mary Johnson Invite.
