WINONA, Minn. - Winona State University head women's basketball coach Ana Wurtz has announced the addition of four student-athletes to the Warrior roster for the 2025-2026 season. The 2025 signing class consists of Rylie Cother (Lakefield, MN), Eva Brooks (Lena, WI), Megan Johnson (West Salem, WI), and Myah Maull (Apple Valley, MN).
Head coach Ana Wurtz noted, "We are extremely excited to announce the signings of Rylie, Eva, Megan, and Myah. These young ladies are high character individuals that have a strong work ethic and a competitive toughness that will help them be successful in our program. This group has an attack mindset when it comes to scoring the ball and will provide some great length and athleticism as versatile defenders. We are thrilled to add these players and their families to our Warrior family!
Rylie Cother, Jackson County Central HS (Lakefield, MN), averaged 30.7 ppg and 9 rpg in her junior campaign. She finished the season garnering First Team All-Conference and All-State honors and was chosen as the Big South Conference Player of the Year. Through her junior season, Rylie has already amassed 1,665 points and holds the school record for points in a game at 53.
Wurtz on Cother: "Rylie has a relentless motor who can flat out score the ball. Rylie shines as a playmaking guard who can create for herself as well as others. She fills the stat sheet accomplishing the rare feat of a double-double on many nights. In Rylie, we have added a tough, high-energy player and an outstanding competitor. We are excited to see how Rylie's intensity and work ethic continues to elevate the standard in our gym."
Eva Brooks is a 6'1" forward from Lena High school in Wisconsin. During her junior season, Eva averaged 19.8 points per game, 12.1 rebounds, and 3.3 blocks. She led her team to an impressive 28-3 record and a post season run that ended in the state championship game. She was the Marinette and Oconto Conference Player of the Year and was selected First Team All-State.
Wurtz on Brooks: "Eva is a versatile player who at 6'1" can handle the basketball, shoot it at a high level, and uses her elite footwork to score inside. She provides a unique skill set in our league with her quick release on the perimeter as well as the length and athleticism to be able to guard inside and out. Eva is selfless teammate who is eager to learn. We are excited to have her enthusiasm and positive energy in our gym!"
Megan Johnson, a 5'11" guard, averaged 23 points per game and 8 rebounds for West Salem High School (WI) her junior season. She was Coulee Conference Player of the Year, LaCrosse Tribune Player of the Year, and a 2-time WBCA 1st-Team All-State selection. Megan led her team to an impressive 24-5 record that resulted in a trip to the state tournament, the second appearance in her high school career.
Wurtz on Johnson: "Across the board as a multi-sport athlete, Megan is a proven winner. At 5'11," she has played every position throughout her high school career. She is a rare matchup in our league with her ability to shoot from outside, attack off the bounce, and post up. Megan
is a selfless teammate with an incredibly high basketball IQ. She has experienced a lot of success with every team she has been part of and will continue to bring that standard of excellence to our program. We are excited to keep one of the best players in the area (and state of WI) home in a Warrior uniform!"
Myah Maull, a 5'9" guard from Apple Valley, MN, was the most recent addition to the 2025 class. In her junior season, Myah filled the stat sheet averaging 13 points, 6 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 3 steals a game in the South Suburban Conference. Myah plays at Eastview High School under the leadership of Molly Kasper (Anderson), one of the best playmakers to ever wear a Warrior uniform.
Wurtz on Maull: "One of the best compliments a player can receive is that they make everyone else on the floor better, and Myah does just that. Myah can shoot the ball, is an explosive talent off the bounce, and thrives in a physical battle. Myah has an obvious passion for basketball and competing that will be contagious in our gym. In Myah, we have added an exceptional energy and great teammate. We are excited about what she brings to our program on the floor as well as the impact she will have on our culture beyond the court."
