ST. PAUL, Minn. – For the first time since 2005 Winona State is the NSIC Outdoor Track & Field Champions. The Warriors scored a total of 134 points over the last two days to take home the crown.
The day started well as the Warriors won the 4x100 meter relay, setting a new NSIC and WSU record in a time of 46.10 seconds.

Brittany Schyvinck and
Megan Seidl teamed up in the 4x100 meter relay.
Seidl won the 400 meters in a time of 54.16 seconds. Her teammate Schyvinck was fourth with a time of 56.60 seconds. In the 200 meters Seidl would again take first, running in a time of 24.07 seconds. Schyvinck was fourth with a time of 24.71 seconds.
The Warriors scored 16 points in the discus, highlighted by the second place finish of
Heather Buckler. Buckler threw 46.69 meters/153-02 feet.
Kathleen Taylor was third with a throw of 45.04 meters/147-09 feet.
Ashley Thooft was seventh with a throw of 41.52 meters/136-03 feet.
Raissa Hansen took second in the 3000 meter steeplechase, running in a time of 10:59.41, earning the Warriors eight team points.
Erin Bramble took fifth in the javelin with her throw of 36.08 meters/118-04 feet.
Kari Schneiss was sixth in the 400 meter hurdles, crossing the line in 1:03.42.
Schyvinck,
Johnna Patterson,
Alexandra Hutchison and Seidl ran 3:53.87 in the 4x400 meter relay to take sixth place.
In the finals of the 800 meters
Ali Johnson took seventh and
Madeline Tompach was eighth. Johnson ran a 2:15.02 and Tompach was eighth in 2:19.37.
Nikki Staffen was fifth in the 1,500 meters, crossing the line in 4:40.80.
