Cunningham claims NSIC record as WSU wraps up 2023 NSIC Outdoor Track & Field Championships

 St. Paul, Minn. – The Winona State University track & field team wrapped up the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) portion of their schedule over the weekend of May 12-13, competing at the 2023 NSIC Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

Competing in Sea Foam Stadium on the campus of Concordia University, St. Paul,  Lindsay Cunningham won the women's 5000-meter run, setting a NSIC record with a time of 15.48.64.  Cunningham also earned a NSIC individual championship in the 10,000 meters on Friday. 

WSU's Xana Leum and Hanna Reichenberger finished second and third, respectively, in the women's triple jump, helping to pace the Warriors to finish with 82 points overall, good for third place among the 14 teams. 

McKenna Taylor joined Cunningham among the top-5 in the 5000-meters running the race in 16:55.74. Taylor also took runner-up honors in the 3000 steeplechase on Friday as well.

WSU's Brooklyn Schyvinck ran a time 100.01 in the women's 400-meters to claim second place in the event while Regan Feit finished sixth at 1:02.95.

Kaylee Beyer finished sixth overall in the women's 1500-meters, while Hanna Reichenberger was fifth in the women's 100-meter hurdles.

In addition to Leum and Reichenberger's strong field event finish, Kaylee Patnode finished fourth in the javelin with a best toss of 37.19-m (122-00).

In the relays, Winona State 4X100 team of Daria Tersina, Ashlie Lockington, Courtney Lukas and Kaylee Olson took 11th with a time of 49.17; Minnesota State won the event with a time of 45.10. 

The WSU 4X400 relay team of Regan Feit, Lainey Lipschultz, Alyssa Larson and Brooklyn Schyvinck came in third overall, running a time of 3:51.16.
