WINONA, Minn. – The Winona State track and field team hit the road this weekend for Mankato, Minn. to compete in the Ted Nelson Classic hosted by Minnesota State Mavericks at the Myers Field House.
The Warriors are coming off a successful weekend at the Mark Guthrie Legacy Invitational hosted by UW-La Crosse at the Hetzel Fieldhouse. The Warriors had slew of new additions to the WSU all-time top ten across multiple events, plus a new third time all best for the 60m hurdles.
Winona State Notes:
- Lexi Urbick won the 60m hurdles at the Mark Guthrie Legacy Invitational with a time of 8.87s, this moved her up to third on the WSU all-time list for the 60m hurdles.
- Karissa Birch's fifth place finish in the 200m at the Guthrie Legacy Invitational moved her up to ninth on the WSU all-time top ten list for the 200m.
- The 4x400 team of Ubrick, Birch, Adalyn Barkley, and Alyssa Larson are currently ranked third in the NSIC.
- Ella Schueler jumped 40' 7" (12.37m) in the triple jump at the Mark Shuck Open hosted by Minnesota State, this jump shattered the WSU all-time record and earned her the number one spot, as well as moved her up to the fifth best in all Division II.
- MacKenzie Wissbroecker earned the fifteenth-place rank in Division II with a 19' 6 1/4" (5.95m) in the long jump.
- Ava Krista moved her way up the national rankings to the new Division II rank of 37th, with a 38' 1/4" (11.59m) triple jump.
The Warriors are set to compete in twelve events at the Ted Nelson Classic.
