WINONA, Minn. – The Winona State track and field team readies to head to Mankato, Minn. to compete at the NSIC Indoor Championships starting this Friday, February 27th through Saturday the 28th, hosted by Minnesota State at the Myers Field House.
The Warriors are coming off a successful meet at the Caged Eagle Open and are looking to carry that momentum into this conference weekend.
Winona State Notes:
- The Warriors currently have the third best 4x400 with a time of 3:53.61in the NSIC ran by Karissa Birch, Lexi Urbick, Adalyn Barkley, and Alyssa Larson at the UW-La Crosse Mark Guthrie Legacy Ivitational.
- Ella Schueler sits at second in the conference for the triple jump with 40' 7" (12.37m) from the Mark Schuck Open.
- MacKenzie Wissbroecker sits at sixth in the conference for long jump with 19' 6 1/4" (5.95m) and is closely followed by Schueler in seventh with 19' 5 1/4" (5.92m), both performances coming from the Mark Schuck Open.
- Urbick is sixth in the NSIC for the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.76s, at the Ted Nelson Classic.
- Sophia Taarud sits comfortably at first in the 5000m with a time of 16:47.30s at the Chuck Peterson Open. She is closely followed by Kylie Anderson whose fourth in the conference with a time of 17:23.76s at the Ted Nelson Classic.
- Anderson sits in second for the 3000m with a time of 9:56.24s at the Bearson/Gathje Classic.
- Anderson continues to top conference rankings while sitting fourth in the NSIC in the mile with a time of 5:02.87s, at the UW-La Crosse Pat Healy Classic.
- Larson is ranked third in the NSIC in the 400m with a time of 57.69s at the ted Nelson Classic.
The Warriors are set to compete in fifteen events at the NSIC Indoor Championship.
