SMITHVILLE, Mo. – The Winona State men's golf team is currently tied for second place of the NSIC Championship Tournament after round one.
After the first round, Winona State currently sits tied for second place with the Bemidji State Beavers with a team score of 294 (+6) and sit right behind Concordia-St. Paul who is in first place with a team score of 286 (-2). Minnesota-Crookston is behind WSU in fourth place with a team score of 298 (+8).
Leading the way for the Warriors is
Max Jericho who is currently in second place individually after shooting a 70 (-2). Jericho also currently leads all golfers with an average score on par 4s of a 3.80. Jericho was able to shoot a 34 (-2) on the front nine and maintained a 72 (E) scorecard on the back nine.
Next up for Winona State is
Javier Ramos Casariego and
Logan Chouinard, both collecting cards of 74 (+2). Casariego was able to find himself in the top three for total birdies in round one with five and Chouinard was able lock in top 10 for total pars in round one with 13.
Peyton Coahran and
Luke Maas finish out the Winona State starting lineup with each carding a 76 (+4) and a 77 (+5), respectively. Both Coahran and Maas look to bounce back in the second round, as they have been key leaders to the Warriors team this season.
Winona State is scheduled to begin round two of the NSIC Championship Tournament, tomorrow April 17th with first tee starting at 8:30am.
