SMITHVILLE, Mo. – The Winona State men's golf was able to overtake CSP in round two of the NSIC Championship to move up to first place.
In the second round of the NSIC Championship, Winona State was able to move past Concordia-St. Paul with a round two score of 287 (+3). WSU was led by
Max Jericho who carded a 70 (-2) on day two and now sits in the number one individual spot at the tournament.
Jericho now leads the event in total birdies with 11 and holds a total score card of 140 (-4), with second place sitting at a 143 (-1).
Luke Maas is next up for Winona State with a round two score of 71 (-1). Maas was able to hit an eagle on hole nine today to help push him to sixth overall in the event. Maas also finds himself with six birdies thus far and an average score of 3.13 on par threes, putting Maas at top 10 in both categories.
Javier Ramos Casariego and
Peyton Coahran are next up for Winona State with both shooting cards of 75 (+3). Casariego has been electric on par five holes so far this tournament, scoring an average of 4.50 putting him at number one at the event. Coahran has maintained consistency and is currently tied for seventh in total pars with 24.
Logan Chouinard rounds out the Warrior lineup with a round two score of 76 (+4). In round one, WSU was able to card a team score of 294 (+6) which put them eight shots behind Concordia-St. Paul. In round two, CSP hit a 304 (+16) as a team which allowed WSU to overtake first place.
Winona State will be in action next, tomorrow April 19th for the final round of the 2026 NSIC Championship Tournament.
