BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. – The Winona State women's golf team surpassed the Sioux Falls Cougars to take fifth place in round two of NSIC Championships.
After the first round Winona State currently sits in fifth place with a team score of 633 (+57) and sits directly behind the Minnesota-Crookston Golden Eagles who have a team score of 627 (+51). Sioux Falls is right behind the Warriors with a team score of 636 (+60).
At the top of the lineup for the Warriors after round two is
Lindsey Lund and
Georgia Volley who are both currently tied for eighth place individually. Lund carded a 74 (+2) in round two and Volley shot a 77 (+5). Both Lund and Volley find themselves in the top 10 for total birdies at the event with five and four, respectively.
Megan Young and
Kessa Mara were next up for WSU with both carding a 81 (+9) in the second round. Mara had a huge bounce back round moving up eight spots on the individual podium. Rounding out the Warrior's starting lineup is
Maeve McDougal who finished round two with an 85 (+13) while recording three pars on the front nine and four pars on the back.
The Warriors will finish the NSIC Championship tomorrow where they will await the NCAA Division II Women's Golf Championships selection release, which is scheduled for Sunday, April 26th on NCAA.com.
