Maureen Ryan-Giroux is one of the most decorated runners in Winona State history, holding 12 school records when she graduated in 1993. The runner qualified for the NAIA Indoor and Outdoor Championship in 1991, 1992 and 1993, earning All-American honors in all three campaigns. She posted a second place finish at the indoor national meet in the mile in 1993 and was sixth in the 800 meters in 1992. She also posted a fifth-place finish in the 1400 meters at the outdoor national championship in 1992. Ryan-Giroux also was a member of the WSU cross country team in 1992, leading the team to the NAIA National Championship while finishing eighth as an individual at the meet.
